Quarter 4 Independent Reading Project

For this quarter, you may create either a book poster or a tunnel book. The project is due on May 23. Please turn in the grading sheet with your completed project.

Movie Poster Grading Criteria:

1. Color picture (either your own drawing or a synthesis of two or more pictures from the Internet)
2. Book Title in an appealing font
3. Includes the phrase, “Based on the novel by _(author’s name)_”
4. Poster measures 22”x28”
5. Includes a catch phrase that hints at a central theme of the novel
6. Includes a casting list at the bottom of the poster indicating which celebrities will play the roles of the main characters. (For example, “Featuring Denzel Washington as Okonkwo”)
7. On the back of the poster, include your name and the number of pages you read out of the total number of pages in the book.
8. Overall professional appearance

Tunnel Book Grading Criteria:

1. Includes at least 8 frames
2. Each frame includes 1-3 pictures cut from a magazine
3. Frames are sequenced from front to back to show the main plot developments in the novel
4. The title of the book and the name of the author are included on the front frame
5. Frames measure at least 6”X6”
6. On the back, include your name and the number of pages you read out of the total number of pages in the book.
7. Overall professional appearance
